This program is designed to increase awareness of the importance of integrating balanced mind, body and spiritual practices as dynamic aspects of a healthy lifestyle.
NATIVE WATERS YOUNG LEADERSHIP CAMP - Consider Source sponsored a staff health counselor to work with 20 tribal youths as part of their daily activities during a week long Native Waters Young Leadership Camp. This summer camp was part of the American Indian Water Resources Education Project coordinated by the Wind River Tribal College. These students live in a community where the unemployment rate exceeds 60% and less than 50% of the students graduate from high school. The leadership camp is designed to help students "find their place in the circle" by encouraging them to reconnect to their land and their culture. Recognizing the various self esteem and health challenges also faced by these teens, Consider Source sponsored the health counselor who focused on issues of self esteem and psychological well being. 2004.
